Diet has got an enormous influence on the functions of our organism. Each meal should provide us with energy and the necessary nutrients which ensure our body is healthy. Of course, we should take care of our liver, stomach, kidneys and the most important muscle, which is heart. Those suffering from heart problems should be particularly careful and choose a diet adjusted to their needs.
It is obvious that in order for our heart to be healthy, we need to give up fatty foods. Fried meats, heavy and calorie-rich dishes put a strain on our heart causing hypertension, heart attacks and sclerosis. We have to remember that the fat accumulated in our veins may contribute to serious embolisms. Therefore, if the doctor tells us that our heart is not in the best condition, we should give up sausages, pork chops and steaks and replace them with fruits, vegetables and lean meat.
If we are preparing meat, we should steam-cook or grill it, thus burning the excess of fat, instead of deep-frying it, making it even more caloric. Instead of potatoes, we should combine this meat with rice, buckwheat or pasta and fresh salad made of tomatoes, cucumbers or cabbage. This is not difficult at all, and light meals will soon become very tasty for us.
When our mood improves and fatigue and apathy turn into energy and vigour, we will appreciate the benefits of healthy food. We also need to remember about physical activities that will improve the functions of our heart (increasing its efficiency). By burning fat and improving oxygen circulation in the organism, we will ensure our heart is in good condition.
There are also special diets designed by nutritionists and cardiologists, which are recommended to patients because healthy eating may in future prevent the need to undergo serious operations or take heart-strengthening medications.
We should always remember that our heath is the most important and only we can take a proper care of it. We have to take this responsibility and have a lot of determination, willpower as well as common sense in order to give up bad habits and change our attitude to life and health. Good luck!
